Offers to work online from home are growing fast.
Genuine work at home jobs, however, are difficult to find.
When you search online for work at home jobs, you are seeing promotions by Internet marketers.
This is why I say 99% you see are really scams.
It’s hard to pass up a job opportunity that promises a large income and the flexibility of working entirely from home. Especially when the opportunity appears at the top of your online search results and includes video testimonials of success stories, making it seem legitimate. The problem is, most of these job opportunities are scams and won’t deliver on their promises. False promises from a work-at-home scam
Most of these “jobs” are actually advertisements to buy a product.
If they are not outright scams, they do not deliver what they promise.
I imagine you are reading my post because you are looking for a legitimate job you can do at home using the Internet.
There are legitimate ways to earn money online, but landing an online job is probably not going to be it.
Allow me to explain why.
To begin with, most genuine work at home jobs are highly specialized.
Many of us will not qualify for these jobs.
Companies hiring remote workers require a formal interview, education, experience, and references.
A good example of this is an Internet Technology (IT) professional.
Then, there is the competition.
There is a great demand for online jobs and companies can easily outsource simple tasks. They do not need to hire you, me, or anyone for that matter.
These days companies use 3rd parties to crowdsource work and pay pennies for tasks.
Also, there is artificial intelligence (AI). So customer service reps are no longer needed, at least not as many.
So how can you actually make money using the Internet?
The best and most profitable way is with Affiliate Marketing.
You need to create an online business for yourself.
Find a niche (like treating hair loss, losing weight, caring for pets, or something you are good at). Build a website, drive traffic to it and sell products.
This way you can create a monthly income and create more websites to grow if you want.
That is how the most successful people online are making money.
But, you must stay away from the so-called guru’s selling make money packages.
Don’t fool around with information products or coaching programs. That is how you get scammed.
Everyday people worldwide have learned how to make money using the Internet and so can you.
You simply need a reputable program to follow and the right tools.

Hi, Gina…
I agree that affiliate marketing is indeed a very good and genuine way to make money online while working from home.
I know a lot of people that have other things going on in their lives that mean they simply cannot take a job outside the home…
For the last three and one-half years I have been creating an online business, and it has largely been done from my home office.
I initially started with the Wealthy Affiliate platform, and have since expanded into other areas of online business such as selling my own products and selling other’s products through my own e-commerce stores…
It can be overwhelming at first to get organized and started, and seemingly impossible, but if you stick with it and follow the training and persist, you will succeed.
There are too many scams out there that promise you hundreds or thousands of dollars a month income, but most are simply selling dreams to those that are looking for an easy way to success…
The real way is to learn all the requisites to establish a solid foundation for your business after you have determined what niche you are interested in pursuing…
Over time you will build up a library of content that people using the search engines are looking for, your traffic will increase, and you will be able to monetize that traffic.
I appreciate your candid article on the effective way to make money online…Wealthy Affiliate offers a solid start for would-be work from home entrepreneurs…
The more real information we can get out to everyone on how to really make money while working from home the better…
Cheers!
Dave
Hi Dave, I have spent the last couple of days mulling over your generous comment. I cannot think of thing to add to it. I have tried, but you covered it so well. Thank you for reading my post and for the time and care you gave in your message. ~Gina
Wealthy affiliate looks like a good place to learn how to work from home. But I wonder how long it takes to learn and implement all the necessary stuff.
If I work around 2 hours per day, would that be enough or can I work less than this? Since I don’t have a lot of time.
Hi Furkan,
WA is a good place to learn. I like it because it is a straight forward program and not some silly sales funnel just trying to sell more stuff. It is for true Internet/website business development.
The answer to your question about how long, is 3 months.
The answer to your question about working 2 hours per day, is yes.
If you devote 2 hours of focused time each day to training, you will have a website with good rankings in Google in 3 months.
The key is to focus entirely on the training and to not get sidetracked with socializing on the platform, or with social media.
The other key is not to sign up for emails from Internet Marketers as you start working online. They sell information products, courses, and coaching programs that are a waste of time.
Do not sign up for webinars either, they are just sales pitches and the information you get is not worth the wasted time.
As for social media. which WA training includes, your time will be far better spent writing posts for your blog. I know this is true, because when I look at my traffic stats, most of my traffic comes from organic search (Google) and not from my social media accounts.
I hope this information helps you. Please contact me if you have more questions. You can find my email address in the Contact top menu item.
Thank you for your questions!
