Do not use offensive language and obscene images in your blog! I swear, maybe you swear, but we do not all swear.
I admit it, I do swear sometimes. I try to say it under my breath and avoid using it around others. If I am home alone and stub my toe, then I have at it. Sometimes I just need to throw a tantrum, but my blog is not the place for it.
No Swearing!
You may be trying to be relevant or angry about something, but time marches on and circumstances and emotions rapidly change. Same goes for website and other public comments, no swearing! If you have an argument then make it with some sense and respect for others.
Generally, people do not want to read, hear or see obscenities on your website, Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, Twitter or other posts.
If I wanted to see porn or otherwise suggestive pictures, I would go to a website that specializes in that particular niche. I really do not want to happen upon it in a post.
I shouldn’t leave your website or post wishing I had never found it in the first place.
Also about being negative. Promote yourself please, but do not undermine others while doing it including companies. There is a way to appropriately criticize if you must.
Okay, the lecture is over. Now go clean your room.
Thank you for reading I Swear! Please leave a comment below and if you swear I will edit you. 🙂
Gina, I 110% agree with this. 90% of the time I get on Facebook I have to sit there and individually go through wall posts people share and choose the “I don’t want to see this” option so hopefully the next time I get on I won’t have to see it. I think the internet is a fantastic tool if used correctly but I am becoming more and more concerned about what my future kids will be looking at when they pull up the internet. Great advice! I wish everyone had this mindset! I think you have done a fantastic job with the layout of the site. Keep up the great work! -Alyssa
Hi Alyssa, Thanks much for your support on this. I do not think some people realize they are offending as many people as they actually are. Regarding language specifically, I have a 14-year-old son and I talk to him about swearing, but it is everywhere and it is especially bad in the gaming community. Kids can’t even get on a site about Minecraft without being bombarded by foul language. I do not expect my son will be an angel, but I do not want him to think it is okay for him to talk like that. The truth is that it is very negative and if it becomes a habit, it is very hard to break. I speak from experience! Gina
You’ve come a long way baby! Great narration, your personality is shining through your writing. Yet another window to your soul. Pictures and words, both so powerful on their own and magical together!
Hi Albores, Thank you for your very kind comment. Gina
Gina,
I really enjoyed the post. I always figure, if I have to hide it from my Mom or my kids, it is probably not worth posting!
Thanks!
Jerry
Hi Jerry, I am glad you liked it. I have found profanity and obscenities in places and on websites I would never expect. I think some people are trying to be relevant because it has become very mainstream. I am no goody two-shoes but believe there are many out there that are not being taken seriously in business because they use it. Thank you for reading and leaving a comment! Gina
Hey Gina. You are building a lovely site here. Its very clean (excuse the pun) and easy to navigate. Reading your post” I Swear” was really enjoyable and it is well written and you have made it both serious and funny. Also like your theme great work.
Thank you so much! My Mom complained about bad language on Facebook posts and started posting Bible quotes to all of us! So it made me think about it.
I agree! Great topic.
